MUDr. Jan Lorenc

I graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague. I hold certificates in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry and a specialization in Systematic Psychotherapy. During my practice, I completed many training courses (Psychoanalytic Self-experience, Family Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy - biosynthesis, Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor, etc.).

I have had many years of experience as a Secondary Doctor at the Psychosomatic Clinic - Pfaelzer Felsenland-Bick Klinik in Germany. I also worked as a Psychiatrist at the Children’s Psychiatric Clinic of the University Hospital in Motol, as a Psychiatrist at the Department of Infectious Jaundice, at the Department of Comprehensive Treatment of Drug Addictions, as Head of the Riaps Crisis Centre, Head of the Crisis Department of DPS Nad Ondřejovem and Head of the Fokus Praha Crisis Team. Currently, I am involved with psychiatric and psychotherapeutic out-patient services for children and adults. Beside this, I develop and offer supervisory services. I am engaged in pedagogical activities e.g., at the Crisis Intervention o. s. Remedium and TVS Fokus Praha. I also teach Crisis Intervention at the Prague School of Psychosocial Studies and I am a lecturer in Body-focused Psychotherapy Training. Moreover, I engage in publishing activities, translate professional literature and write contributions to books and magazines as professional articles. I am a member of the European Association of Body Psychotherapy, a member of the Czech Psychotherapeutic Society of the Czech Medical Association JEP and the Chairman of its Ethnic Commission. I am the Vice-chairman of the Association of Day Hospitals and Crisis Centre’s and the Chairman of the Czech Association for Body-Based Psychotherapy.
