Social Worker

Mgr. Miloš Březina

My name is Miloš Březina and I come from Beroun.  At the University of Pardubice, I studied Cultural History. I was also interested in researching other cultures and therefore attended lectures on Anthropology. In the first decade of the 21st century, I enjoyed travelling to Western Europe for work purposes as well as the Middle East to learn about other cultures and places. In 2012 I started work at Prostor Plus, which is a non-for-profit organisation offering social services. I started my work in Prostor Plus in a low-threshold club. Later, I participated in establishing the mobile social facility “Klubus” in Kutná Hora, which I have successfully managed from 2016.  I also studied Social Work at Masaryk University in Brno (branch - Consulting Services) and in 2019 I started Psychotherapeutic training at SUR - KUŠ.

I use a holistic approach in my work. I try to look at a person in the wider context of his/her environment and internal disposition (emotions, experiences). I then look for and try to strengthen his/her inner abilities and resources, which will enable my client to resume a path towards positive change. I also intervene with support rather than help because I believe that when a human in need participates in building his/her own future, he/she will learn from this experience and will no longer fail in similar situations. In contrast, passive acceptance of aid leads to unequal relationships and remaining dependence.  For many years I have been thinking about establishing a multidisciplinary team.

A team which would be able to help solve a wide range of family issues stemming from unfavourable life situations. I am therefore incredibly happy that I am a member of the Mental Health Support Team in Kutná Hora.

I like mountains, winters sports, cycling, music, literature, art, travelling and sharing adventures with my children.
