Bc. et Bc. Iveta Holovská

Initially, I completed Finish language studies at the Faculty of Arts at the Masaryk University in Brno. During my studies in Finland at the University of Oulu, I then became involved in special pedagogy, namely speech therapy and deaf-mute therapy.

Currently, I am about to complete a master's program in Special Education in Behavioural Disorders also at the Masaryk University in Brno. My inspiration for choosing behavioural disorders was my long-term work with children from children's homes and my experience of foster care in Finland, where I had the opportunity to learn from a foster mother how this system works in Finland.

My experience in education was mainly gained by working with children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and with children with autism spectrum disorder and developmental dysphasia. As part of my work in the children's home, I dealt with children who have experienced a trauma, have been abused, socially neglected or have been diagnosed with mental disorders.

In my approach to children, I try to connect both areas; that is to apply knowledge of speech therapy in the field of behavioural disorders, because I believe that developed communication competencies are a prerequisite for children to be satisfied in life.
